Linda Barrett is an international lawyer and a Texas native, with degrees in philosophy, logic, and law from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Law School. Jennifer Goodman raised four children and is a grandmother of one (so far). She has an MEd and teaches middle school language arts at a private school in Southern California. Alvin Adjei is an American author and practicing lawyer. He is also the former President of the Houston Young Lawyers Association (HYLA.) Robert M. Brantner is currently working as both a captain and a line check airman for a major US airline. He started his flying career as a bush pilot in Alaska, which later led to a job as a pilot for Trans World Airlines. He spent four years with TWA before he landed his dream job, working for the airline he flies for today.

Bob was born in Southern California and attended high school there before heading to Arizona for college. After graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, he moved to Alaska when he got his first flying job as a bush pilot. During his time in Alaska, Bob first tried his hand at writing, penning a memoir on his experiences flying Cessnas in the untamed Alaskan wilderness.

All throughout his flying career, Bob has continued to write. He penned several (unpublished) manuscripts. It was after Bob’s completion of Claus: The Untold Story of Kris Kringle, that he decided to work with his younger sister (and editor), Taylor Brantner, on cleaning up the story until it was fit for publication. After some success with Claus, Bob dug out his previously edited (however, unpublished) manuscript of Five Hundred Feet. He teamed again with Taylor and re-edited the material. The reception of Five Hundred Feet was terrific and still is selling strong.

Bob’s mother’s first job was as a stewardess in 1965 working for United Airlines. Through her experiences, Bob’s mom Deni, instilled in him a lifelong passion for aviation. His latest novel, Skyheist is more than just an exciting aviation adventure, but is an homage to aviation’s golden age of the 1960’s.

Bob is a certificated Airline Transport Pilot and is type rated in the Beech 1900, Boeing 737, 757, 767, Airbus A320 and A220, as well as the DC-9. He is also a rated Flight Engineer. Bob served in the Flight Engineer position working on the Boeing 727 during his time at TWA. He also holds a commercial sea plane rating that he obtained while in Alaska.

Skyheist is Bob’s fourth published book. He wrote the afore mentioned Five Hundred Feet Above Alaska and My Year as an Alaskan Bush Pilot, drawing from his experiences flying in “The Last Frontier.”

Bob is married to Kelly Kaczka Brantner and they have one daughter, Madison, and a dog, Fergus. They live just outside of Annapolis, Maryland.

Sam George is a master at two things: discerning trends before they are recognized as trends and communicating these ideas to the public at large.

He is the co-author of The Great Divide: Retro vs. Metro America, the first book to name and bring awareness of the cultural rift in America, which has become a war. The Great Divide received national press coverage, including reviews in the New York Times, Newsweek, the Los Angeles Times, and a presentation to National Press Club that was covered by C-SPAN.
In 1995, Sam was hired to put together the strategy to legalize marijuana. The program was in part funded by George Soros. Sam’s focus groups and polls showed that the only way to “legalize” marijuana was to “medicalize” it first. Another funder, John Sperling, Founder of the University of Phoenix, described it as a “genius” idea. It worked. A total of thirty-three states have approved medical marijuana and ten states have legalized marijuana.

Sam now splits his time between writing and digital communication. He specializes in advocacy, marketing, and fundraising for nonprofits and corporations. He also leads an entirely online yoga company, YMEDICA, which educates yoga teachers on medical yoga

James McEachin is a Silver Star, Purple Heart veteran of the Korean War, an accomplished actor, and an award-winning author. Known as “Jimmy Mack” in the music industry, McEachin was a producer, songwriter, and eventually owner of the record label Mack IV best known for the doo-wop group, The Furys. Because of his long-held moniker in the industry, some speculate James McEachin to be the Jimmy Mack Martha (Reeves) and the Vandellas cried for in their hit song.

McEachin, having appeared in nearly 200 movies and television shows is perhaps best known for his roles on Perry Mason, Matlock, Play Misty for Me, First Monday, and his NBC series Tenafly. He has authored six novels, multiple screenplays, and his one-man play, entitled Above the Call; Beyond the Duty which opened at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. The two-hour play has been seen in places as far away as Kuwait.

In 2005 McEachin was appointed a US Army Reserve Ambassador and spent his free time speaking to soldiers, veterans, and America. In late 2006 he produced the film short Old Glory, a film short for the soldier, veteran, and patriot in us all.

He continues to speak for the veterans who may no longer have a voice to speak for themselves.

Currently, he is in discussion with two production companies regarding his award-winning novel, Tell Me A Tale.

John Reger is a successful entrepreneur and is currently the owner of ten businesses. He was born in Guam and grew up in Houston, Texas. John is goal-oriented and has a hunger to reach for success every day. His businesses range in a variety of shopping centers, clothing lines, window tinting, buildings, and HDS rental homes. He has amazing relations with commercial businesses who have partnered with him such as Hot Topic, Party City, Spirit Halloween, and hundreds of other outlets nationwide. His business is recognized internationally in the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, and New Zealand.

John dropped out of school at the age of fifteen, and he began his entrepreneurship journey at the age of eighteen. He was determined to exceed expectations beyond recognition and was a firm believer in “never doing just enough.” He considers himself an engineer designer, contractor, and businessman all in one. This kind of ambition has taken the young entrepreneur beyond the roots of intellect by becoming a perspicacious achiever and a champion. Throughout his trials, John learned to ameliorate success in his failures. He took risks that ended up costing him fortunes, and even when those losses seem to have castigated him, his determination to rise above the error branded him as a true master of entrepreneurship.

John considers himself as a private man who rarely shows himself in news and media outlets. Instead, John stays behind the scenes, blithely away from the world in order to focus on what truly matters, such as his wife, kids, and his businesses. A contributing factor to John’s entrepreneurship experiences was his father. He considers his father being “the smartest man in the world,” and was his mentor in his late adolescent years until his young adult life. John enjoys sharing his knowledge with other entrepreneurs. He wrote the book Don’t Talk for Free, about his successes and sales techniques.

Aside from his many achievements, John’s hobbies are car racing and boxing. He enjoys collecting exotic cars but also enjoys a casual life by driving his truck or Jeep Cherokee on a daily basis. He enjoys spending time with his six wonderful children and his beautiful wife.

After returning from Desert Storm and serving as a quality control aircraft mechanic with Lockheed Martin, Brad took a position with the local police department in Junction City, Kansas. He worked cases involving everything from stolen bicycles to homicide, developed the Gang Intelligence Unit, and even acted as a liaison to the FBI to assist in the investigation of the Oklahoma City bombing of 1995. From there, he moved to the Manhattan Police Department in Riley County, Kansas, and after a few short years was promoted to detective. With the RCPD, Brad developed the Hi-Tech Crimes Investigation Unit shortly after the birth of the internet and, working with a team of nerds, lawyers, judges, white hat hackers, and officers, was involved in the initial stages of what is now Computer Forensics. His assignments spanned over all major crimes, and he served as a liaison to the DEA working narcotics, and on the JTTF (Joint Terrorism Task Force) after the events of September 11th, 2001.

After retirement, Brad has gone on to continue in the roles for public service. He developed his own company, Forensic Solutions Inc. which has divisions that work in Computer Forensics, Voice Stress Analysis for Cold Case investigations, and data recovery for the everyday person. His investigations with FSI have been featured on 48 Hours, True Crime TV, A&E’s Dead Again, NBC, Discovery Channel’s Killing Fields, and several journals.

Brad is the author of the Gotcha book series, a True Crime trilogy based on real homicides and Cold Cases that he helped solve during his career as a detective.

Gary Bowen earned degrees in Economics and an MBA from the University of Utah. His career began in egg marketing, when hired by Jon M. Huntsman Sr.. His experiences included agricultural wholesale marketing and financial consulting. He was a Utah State Division Director and a Securities Examiner.

Gary’s studies began in 1962-64 as a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary to West Mexico, where he learned Spanish and Mexican culture. In 1964, he married Herlinda Briones-Vega, who introduced him to Mexico’s hidden history. Reading Spanish history books, having coincidental meetings over decades with a member of Mexico’s Congress and Mexican Jesuit Priests, Gary came to know a history of Mexico that other than Herlinda and Mexican Catholic Priests is largely unknown. Gary likens his historical research to the idealistic dreams of Don Quixote of La Mancha for a better world.

Gary and Herlinda are parents of 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and one g-grandchild. In 2017, Gary was elected to the Emigration Canyon Metro Township Council, which keeps him very involved in community activities in Salt Lake County, Utah

Jana Laird Phillips is a native Texan, who has lived and worked in Dallas, Washington DC, and Houston. She is a BBA graduate of Baylor University with a double major in Marketing and Journalism. Ms. Phillips worked in the Energy Industry for several years, and has numerous articles published in Energy trade journals. Ms. Phillips writing career began at an early age when she won a city wide essay contest “What Thanksgiving Means to Me” in the fourth grade. Frank J. Donohue operates Boeing B-747 jumbo jets all over the world with over thirty-six years of flying experience. He is the author of “School and Schooled”, “Ten Healthy Tips” and soon to be a released “Stop Hating” Frank is the owner and creator of NOT-Y a pilot video channel featuring pilot flight and non-flight stories.

At the young age of just 26, Frank achieved his airline career goal with a flight position on the Boeing B-747 jumbo jet. He has piloted trips to over fifty international cities and most of the cities in the United State for both the Flying Tigers and FedEx. For over 30 years he has flown with over 1000 diverse pilots and met thousands of other distinctive people throughout his travels. Sandra Spurgeon has been a practicing trial lawyer since 1990. In that time, she has successfully litigated in excess of 120 cases through verdict in both state and federal jurisdictions.

Sandra’s practice also includes the representation of victims and families who have suffered catastrophic losses and has collected settlements and judgments in excess of $50,000,000. In 2016 & 2017, she collected in excess of $16,000,000 in settlements and/or judgments. In 2017, Sandra litigated a Federal Tort Claim to judgment with the verdict in excess of $2,000,000. Chrispen vs. United States of America, 7:16-132. Although she has always allowed her verdicts and results to speak for themselves, she considers the verdict in Dotson vs. Sony Electronics, 7:02-CV-35 among one of her biggest accomplishments. Sandra successfully litigated this res ipsa loquitor products liability claim to a multi-million dollar judgment unanimous verdict in federal court on behalf of a burn victim.

Through experience, Sandra has developed a systematic approach for handling of complex litigation matters beginning at case selection, through the discovery process, trial preparation and execution in the courtroom. Additionally, she serves as an expert witness and lectures before various organizations and clients on trial practice, evidence and Kentucky law. Sandra is adept at handling complex legal issues and is a skilled legal writer.

Sandra is active in her community where she currently serves on the Board of Directors for Foster Council and Women Leading Kentucky. Robert M. Brantner was born in Southern California and attended high school there before heading to Arizona for college. After graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, he moved to Alaska when he got a job as a bush pilot. During his time in Alaska, Bob first tried his hand at writing, penning a memoir on his experiences flying Cessnas in the untamed Alaskan wilderness. After almost four years of flying in Alaska, Bob moved south to warmer climates where he flew for Trans World Airlines for four years. Alicia Tho Brown was born in Can Tho village in Vietnam. Alicia Brown (Tho), escaped the country about five years after the fall of Saigon. Her family was granted asylum from a refugee camp in Thailand and settled in Little Rock, Arkansas. She now lives in Las Vegas, NV with her husband of over twenty years, Dr. Gregory Brown.

Bill King is an outspoken independent who has, for years, written about the political dysfunction in our country. But he has done more than just pontificate from an armchair. In 2015, he ran as an independent for mayor of Houston, losing a nail-biting runoff in the closest mayoral race in the city’s history. Prior to running for Houston mayor, King wrote over 500 opinion pieces for the Houston Chronicle and served a stint of that paper’s editorial board. Her second book, titled “Thank You for Feeding Us” explores the realm of food production via agriculture and aquaculture, and the farmers that sustain us daily. And there are more to come.

With each new book, the author will offer products directly tied to the topic. Most Wednesdays refers to a vintage shop on Etsy that offers items similar to the wedding presents her parents received in the 1950s, as well as clothes, hats, and nostalgia from the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Thank You for Feeding Us will introduce at least one of her own creations.

This is a fun and new experience as she spent an entire career as an aerospace engineer for the Navy. She lives near Annapolis, Maryland with her husband, a former naval aviator.

Beverly Kyer has a Master’s Degree in Social Work and is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers. She has postgraduate certificates and over three decades of experience in the integrated approach to readjustment counseling therapist, post-traumatic stress disorder, social research for the mentally ill, and employee assistance program coordination. Beverly was also certified in Toronto Canada at the Traumatology Institute as a Compassion Fatigue Specialist. Two episodes of heart failure led Beverly to make a major downshift in her life by resigning from full-time employment, joining the self-employed, and devoting her life to help others who work in highly stressful environments. Beverly lectures around the country on compassion fatigue, which is sometimes known as secondary or vicarious traumatic stress. Beverly has three grown children: two sons and an adopted daughter, and she lives in Northern California in a quiet cul-de-sac near the delta. Bennett Fisher’s father was Chief Quartermaster on the Mahan-class USS Preston DD-379 destroyer at the Second Naval Battle of Guadalcanal, 11/13 and 14/1942. This destroyer was the fifth Navy ship of six named after 1861 U.S. Naval Academy graduate (first in his class) Lieutenant Samuel Preston (1840 Canada – 1/15/1865 Fort Fisher, North Carolina). Preston was killed in a ground assault on the Confederate Fort Fisher, which protected the South’s trade routes from Europe and the Caribbean to Wilmington, North Carolina, during the Civil War.

Preston was part of a six warship Task Force (four destroyers and two cruisers) in the 11/13-14/1942 Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. The Task Force intercepted a much larger Japanese Task Force delivering troops and supplies to Japanese strongholds on Guadalcanal Island. The Japanese Navy sank or heavily damaged all six American ships except for one cruiser. The Preston sank with more than half its crew lost, including 1924 U.S. Naval Academy graduate Captain (Commander) Max Stormes.

Bennett’s father survived, after 14.5 hours in the ocean sharing a life jacket with a crewmate. Most of his shipmates did not.

After World War II, his father married and moved to the Rio Grande Valley of Texas to farm dry land he inherited from his mother. Bennett was the first of four children born.

Bennett’s father would not talk of his Navy and War experiences. After his father died, Bennett researched his father’s six-year military career. This led to his interest in military history, especially the Pacific Theater of World War II. Bennett took a continuing education course at Rice University on WWII, Pacific Theater. He has given talks on World War II history. He has assisted senior veterans in preparing presentations on their time in the military. He currently coordinates a Veterans group for seniors at a YMCA in Houston.

Ivanni Delgado was born in 1951. He is an engineering graduate from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma with a master in business from the University of NSU of Talehquah, Oklahoma. He currently directs a small company in the petroleum service industry. He has constantly been observing and analyzing the attitude of people with whom he works or relates to. Jen Deveraux is an author and motivational speaker. She survived a horrific car accident. A fifty-ton truck hit her at speeds of 60 mph. Her Volvo saved her life. She struggled with infertility, adoption, divorce and now strives to raise her two girls. In 2018, she found and married the love of her life. Nicole Black is a Certified Rolfer™ through the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, Colorado. She specializes in a form of manual therapy that focuses on addressing people’s problems and not just their symptoms.

A native of Southern California, she currently resides in Santa Barbara with her daughter and is the co-founder and former CEO of Renaud’s Patisserie & Bistro. Stacy Goresko, Ph.D., is an accomplished Author, Speaker, Trainer, Certified Autism Consultant and Inspirational Life Coach. Steve Knowles is a longtime aviation buff who specializes in studies of World War II. He had a successful career in broadcasting and television programming sales management before becoming a full-time writer. Knowles was based in New York, Boston and Chicago with CBS Radio, Warner Bros. Television and independent television producer Carsey-Werner. He also created and hosted a radio program “Church and State” in the early 2000’s. It was through his media associations that he met Frank Boyle while Frank was running Frank Boyle & Co., a brokerage engaged in the sale of radio and television stations. Knowles double-majored in History and Journalism at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He is the father of four adult children and resides near New York City.

Dr. Sybil Pentsil is a multi-talented woman who wears many hats as she makes her impact on society. Not only is she a Doctor of Pediatric Academic medicine at the Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, she is also an ordained minister, serving as pastor at the House of Worship in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Sybil has written and co-authored many booklets and training guides for classes on premarital training, marriage counseling, spiritual development and leadership training. Her books include Free to Dance: Gaining Victory Over Your Thoughts and Emotions and Motherhood Redefined, both available from Better Life Today. In 2005, Sybil and her husband Fiifi co-founded Better Life Today, a self-improvement organization. They are known internationally for impacting marriages & businesses. Warner Roberts has had success in many careers: as a fashion model, an award-winning television journalist, an actress in film and theatre, writer and speaker. The Houston Chronicle named her one of the “Most Beautiful Houstonians.”

Her love of hearts inspired her to create “A Celebration of Hearts” museum in the lobby of the Dr. Denton Cooley Texas Heart Institute, collecting hearts from celebrities nationally and locally for the permanent exhibit. Also, she created an annual event that honors “Houston Sweethearts” on Valentine’s Day. She created and annually presents “Houston Treasures” for The Social Book.

The first Mission of Yahweh dorm, for which Warner raised the funds, was named The Warner Roberts Building in 2017. Mayor Sylvester Turner proclaimed “Warner Roberts Day.” She has received this honor from two previous mayors.

Warner’s top priority is her beloved family, husband Bob, son Bob, Jr., his wife Kristin and their sons Bob III, Ryan and John Luke and son Cliff Lee, his wife Angie and their sons Lee and Cliff.

Wes Oleszewski has authored 24 books since 1991. Born and raised in mid-Michigan he is noted for his meticulous research as well as a knack for weeding out the greatest of details from the most obscure events and then weaving those facts into the historical narratives. A former airline captain and corporate pilot he holds an A.T.P. certificate and to date has filled more than three logbooks with flight time most of which is in airline category and jet aircraft. Recently he gave up the life of a professional aviator and now enjoys his job as a professional writer.

Sterling Nelson – A lifetime love of art, illustration, and design have been the motivating factors in Sterling’s life. Beginning in high school where he was a member of VICA club becoming their parliamentarian. He received the Sterling Scholar award for vocational education (print and design). He was a member of the debate team and went to state three times in extemporaneous speaking. Sterling attended Utah State University in their art program. He is a graduate of Al Collins School of Design in Tempe, Arizona. He has also received a certificate in the one-year design program from Eagle Gate College in Murray, Utah.

Tammy O. Bullock is from a small town in Utah. She is a proud mother and grandmother. Tammy is an administrative secretary at a high school, and in her free time she travels with her husband, has a passion for gardening, and a great love of horses and dogs. Growing up she delighted in hearing tales told by her grandparents that were passed down from generation to generation.

After her grandmother passed away, she inherited a trunk of old photos. Tammy was intrigued by the photos of her ancestors. Soon she found herself knee-deep in genealogical research. One ancestor, in particular, stood out; her great, great grandfather, Ole Mads Olsen who had emigrated from Denmark. She began to explore Danish customs, and along with her sisters have entwined them into their family Christmas traditions.

In 2015, Tammy decided to write a Danish Christmas story so her children and grandchildren would know her favorite Danish traditions. She titled it The Nisse of Christmas. Her family has since encouraged her to publish the story. In 2018 Tammy accomplished her dream of going to Denmark. She fell in love with the country her ancestors came from. After her return, she had a renewed desire to publish her story.

This book “The Nisse of Christmas” is a gift of love to her children and grandchildren. Although the story is fictional, the names and characters were real.
