How to Set Goals
Whether it’s a lofty dream or a small step-by-step process, having structure to your written pieces gives you direction, increases productivity and helps you clearly communicate your ideas. A good plan to follow is the SMART format:
Specific – What is the goal? What do you need to do to achieve it?
Measurable – How will you know if you’ve achieved the goal?
Achievable – How can you achieve this goal? Do you have the right resources?
Realistic – Can you realistically accomplish this goal?
Timely – When will you achieve this goal?
