JT JESTER receives national recognition through the INDEPENDENT PRESS AWARD®!

Detroit, Michigan — The  INDEPENDENT PRESS AWARD recognized How the Sailfish Got its Name by JT Jester in the category of Children’s: Fiction as a distinguished favorite. JT was also awarded WINNER in the category of Book Cover Design Children’s Picture Books. The award also honors Illustrators Aaron & Michele Grayum.

The competition is judged by experts from different aspects of the book industry, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers, and professional copywriters. Selected IPA Award Winners and Distinguished Favorites are based on overall excellence.

A marine life “Fish Story” where imagination comes alive for children of all ages.

Marine life will come alive with the story of the sailfish in this adventurous children’s book. Off the coast of Florida, a sailor is enjoying the sea, when something unexpected happens. A strong wind blows the sail into the water.

Introducing colorful fish like the barracuda, sailfish, and jellyfish.

Your child’s imagination is encouraged with colorful illustrations which offer instant child appeal. An easy and fun read, explore this ocean “fish tail” behind how the sailfish got its name. Written by author JT Jester, who has dyslexia and wrote this story at seven years old.

In 2023, the INDEPENDENT PRESS AWARD had entries worldwide.  Authors and publishers from countries such as Australia, Canada, Germany, India, Japan, Norway, Scotland, and South Africa, participated.

Books submitted included writers based in cities such as Atlanta to Los Angeles; London to Nova Scotia; from Cape Town to Mumbai; from Albuquerque to New York City as well as others.

JT Jester is a young entrepreneur, philanthropist, podcaster, and inspirational speaker based in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
