ABOUT THE BOOK

“What are you doing out here alone? Don’t you know there are monsters in these woods?”

In this fast-paced, high-stakes, high-heat romantasy debut standalone novel, a woman hidden away her whole life must survive the Razorcliff Mountains and a mysterious but alluring man to discover who she really is. Perfect for fans of monster romance looking for something spicier and darker, Want & Ruin features folkloric monsters, forced proximity, and a morally gray monster hunter.
Once upon a time, there lived an exile named Krikhyn.
Imprisoned at a convent by the court for dark magic and blamed for twenty-three years of snow, Krikhyn has spent her entire life under the control of a warlock and the crown. But there is one problem: she isn’t magical.
Never allowed to make a decision for herself, Krikhyn’s carefully controlled existence begins to unravel one night when she
feels the hot breath of something monstrous against her bare skin in the hedge maze—and a new, wrong want begins to burn inside her.

Starved for touch and desperate for something more, she seeks him out. Her hunger for the beast—and for a life of her own—forces her onto the road through the Razorcliff Mountains, where she must make impossible choices in a world whose rules she doesn’t understand.

Who can she trust in a world of deals that bind?

The monster hunter Torrien knows too much about her. Despite knowing how dangerous he is, he is everything her body wants.

She left Saint Ruyien Convent in exile.

What will she be when she reaches the other side of the Razorcliffs?

Will she survive to claim her birthright?

Or will she become payment on a debt?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Serena Bradley writes dark fantasy that takes the monster genre seriously. Her debut novel, Want & Ruin, explores why women turn to the monstrous for love—and what it means when monsters prove gentler than men.

Bradley grew up in the Bay Area and spent much of her time in the mountains, which may explain her soft spot for wild things. She now lives in middle America with her family, where she continues chasing the next story.

With Want & Ruin now making its mark as a #1 international bestseller, Bradley is already working on more creative projects, with plenty more stories still prowling around in her head.
